FORT ERIE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION
LAUNCHES NEW WEB-SITE
November 20, 2002 - Fort Erie Economic Development and Tourism Corporation (EDTC) General Manager, Jim Thibert, today announced that the EDTC has launched a new web-site aimed at promoting the abundance of business activity in Fort Erie and aggressive recruitment efforts of the EDTC.
“There is a significant amount of new business development and expansion going on in Fort Erie.
We want investors and visitors to the site to get a full appreciation for what small, medium and large business interests are doing in our community,” explained Mr. Thibert.
The new site is restructured to deliver business-focused information on Fort Erie business which include Bridgeburg Station, Ridgeway, Crystal Beach, Garrison Road and Stevensville. A new service to local business is a Business Spotlight feature on the main page which profiles a local business with links to their e-mail and web-sites. This is a free service to all businesses in the five districts.
An additional new service is the Business Link Program. For $500, a local business can have a professionally-designed web-site, free web hosting for one year and an e-mail address. “This is intended”, stated Thibert “to increase business access to the internet in an affordable and professional way while drafting off the traffic of the EDTC site”.
In 2001, the Fort Erie economy produced $800 million of goods and services. In addition to a US Investment Study, the EDTC is also completing a Retail Market Study aimed at further defining
Fort Erie’s economic marketplace.
